Uyo- AKWA Ibom State citizens and residents have been warned against patronizing and consuming the poisonous skin meat (a.k.a. kpomo meat) being imported into the state by yet to be identified persons.
Director of Veterinary Services, Ministry of Agriculture and Mineral Resources, Dr. Obot Obot, who gave the warning during an interaction with newsmen, weekend, said the sale of the skin meat, known as kpomo in local parlance, in some markets in the state was discovered four months ago .
Obot added that the state government, in collaboration with the Department of State Services, DSS, had already taken proactive steps to apprehend those behind the importation of the poisonous skin meat (kpomo) and to stop its sale in all markets in the state.
He said, “The state government through the Veterinary Services Directorate has commenced sensitization campaign to the local and urban markets, because it is imperative that we talk to people so that they will watch out for the toxic meat which according to reports is being imported into the country from Europe.”
My advice is "keep away from unhealthy foods". Thanks for your understanding.
ADVICE NO BE CURSE!!
